Dr. Linda Zoolalian

Dr. Linda Zoolalian enjoys an active career as a pianist, vocal coach, and teacher in both America and Europe. She regularly plays for the Los Angeles Opera's Outreach Program as well as cueing the supertitles for their main stage productions. In 1997, she joined the music faculty of Pasadena City College where she teaches several classes in addition to accompanying the College's Chamber Singers under the direction of Don Brinegar. Dr. Zoolalian spent the last eight years as the head vocal coach and opera pianist for the Opera Institute at California State University Long Beach. This season is her first playing for the Los Angeles Choral Artists.

Each summer Dr. Zoolalian returns to Europe to work for an American vocal festival. She served on the staff of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria for three years and, since 2001, she has worked as a music director, coach, pianist, and teacher of accompanying for the Operafestival di Roma in Italy. She was recently hired, for the first time this past summer, to join the musical staff of the prestigious music festival Operaworks.

Awarded a Bachelor of Music from the New England of Conservatory in Boston in Piano Performance, Dr. Zoolalian pursued a Master's and Doctorate in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, where she studied with Dr. Alan Smith and graduated with honors. She is proud to be one of the first graduates of the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts. Dr. Zoolalian has appeared in Japan, Europe, and throughout the United States including Los Angeles' Zipper Hall and Disney Hall.
